Community Engagement
Introducing young people to the musical arts and encouraging students to develop their talents are central components of our mission as an organization. Over the past two decades, Pro Musica of Detroit has instituted programs that engage our guest artists with Detroit-area students through special performances and master classes. Our artists have interacted with students who attend public and private middle- and high schools, as well as attend Michigan universities and colleges, in the City of Detroit and throughout the metropolitan region. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, we also are able to provide tickets to performances at a discount or gratis for music educators and students. Experiencing the words and work of world-class performers and composers in a direct and personal way serves to encourage young people to participate in the arts throughout their lives. Through positive and active engagement today, we help build a future where music and the performing arts add to the quality of life of the entire community.
